Simple Idea, Real Impact

We’re looking for one person to sponsor one girl’s education

We connect individual sponsors with vulnerable girls in rural Kenya, helping them stay safe, receive a quality education, and build lives of self-determination.

About us

One-to-one support. Lifelong possibility.

Heart2Heart USA believes education is the most effective tool to break the cycle of poverty—especially when girls are given the safety, support, and opportunity to learn.

Through one-to-one sponsorship, we support children who have lost parents to HIV/AIDS or have been abandoned. Our program provides more than access to school: it creates encouragement, self-worth, belonging, and the tools for self-determination.

Today, more than 300 students have been empowered through Heart2Heart sponsors.

Organization story and origin

From a dangerous daily journey to a safer path forward.

  • The Beginning

A dangerous daily journey demanded a safer solution.

In 2025, Heart2Heart established its Education Sponsorship Program in partnership with a small orphanage in rural Kenya to support children orphaned by HIV/AIDS. Each morning prior to school, children had to walk three miles simply to fetch water. Along these morning treks, young girls faced the constant danger of abduction and even worse risks.

Our Solution: Connect individual sponsors with individual girls to support their education at private schools, ensuring they remain safe and receive a quality education to promote self-determination.

  • Where We Are Today

Ten girls became a movement reaching hundreds.

What started with supporting ten girls in private education has grown significantly over the past 2 years. Through a 1-to-1 sponsorship, Heart2Heart sponsors have empowered more than 300 students.

Beyond educational and vocational support, our program fosters meaningful connections between students and their sponsors, giving young scholars a strong sense of encouragement, self worth and belonging.

“With the support of Heart2Heart, we have been able to serve our students better than ever.”

– Joseph Oguta, Head Teacher

What guides us

Mission, vision, and values.

We stand with vulnerable children and the guardians who care for them, working in concert with our partners in Kenya and respecting every student’s dignity and right to self-determination.

  • Mission

Heart2Heart was established on the fundamental belief that education is the most effective tool to break the cycle of poverty, with a special focus on empowering young girls. We assist children who have lost parents to HIV/AIDS or were abandoned and who cannot access education without support.

  • Vision

We envision a community where the most vulnerable are cherished; where all children are educated for self-determination; and where students have the tools to rise out of poverty and value themselves.

  • Values

Our work is grounded in partnership, respect, dignity, and self-determination.

    • Our partners in Kenya are our guides.

    • We never exploit someone’s misery or vulnerability.

    • We never publish a student’s photo without guardian consent.

How we help

Education supported at every level.

Our work begins with a girl’s education and extends to the people and communities that help her thrive.

  • A group of students in a classroom, sitting at desks, with some taking notes and holding pens, while a girl in the foreground looks directly at the camera.

    Sponsor a Girl’s Education

Education sponsorship for a girl in primary school is $42 per month or $504 per year. It covers tuition, a school uniform, necessities, and basic medical care for a full school year.

  • Group of children in school uniforms, smiling and posing for a photo outdoors.

    Continuing Support for Students

A school year runs from January to December with a break every three months. When sponsored students return to their community and guardians part of your sponsorship pays for their necessities and food at home.

  • A group of people, mostly women and some children, gathered outdoors under an overcast sky, wearing colorful traditional and modern clothing. Some are standing, while others are seated, holding musical instruments or objects, possibly for a cultural event or gathering.

    Support for Communities

Education happens within the context of a larger community. Our approach extends beyond the school to help ensure students have the necessary support to do their best learning.
