The start of many trips

It all started as…

a small church group and Heart2Heart had raised enough money to dig a well for a small orphanage in Kenya.

We decided it was time for one of us to visit and make sure the money we raised was going where it was supposed to. Who would go? I quickly volunteered! That was the first of 11 trips I’ve made so far.

This will be the 12th trip in 23 years. Since selling our business last year, I plan to travel to Kenya at least once a year and for longer periods of time

Site visits entail meeting with students; visiting all the schools H2H students attend; visiting guardians, meeting with government officials and our local Bishop.

Every day is a full work day, and I feel honored to be able to do it.

I'm excited to finally be on my way again. I'll add pictures of collecting and bagging clothes, medicine, and candy that will join me on the trip.

A group of children playing and sitting on the dirt ground in an urban area with makeshift houses and buildings in the background. Some children are bending down, and others are smiling and standing, with one boy looking directly at the camera. The setting appears to be a neighborhood with densely packed housing.
Children receive food or supplies from an adult during an outdoor event, with adults and children standing in line.
